World Wind Add-On: Crustal Thickness

I had almost forgotten about this add-on I was setting up. This one is a crustal thickness map of the globe.

This add-on is based on the new Crust 2.0 model. Check the linked page for all the details on this model.

I'll have an installer for this add-on soon. For now, download this zip file and extract it into your NASA/< World Wind Install Folder > and then load World Wind.

Great Lakes Bathymetry

Almost ready with another World Wind add-on. This time I am bringing you the new Great Lakes Bathymetry that is being compiled. All the lakes save for Superior are done (as in NOAA, not me.. I am waiting on them).

As you can see in this screen shot, I little more work on image cleanup and alignment is needed. Huron is being a bit of a pain, I think the projection is off is what is wrong there.

All the bathymetry data is from the NOAA GLERL web site.

I will have this add-on ready to go soon.

New High Res Imagery in World Wind

Two new addions for World Wind imagery, this is imagery that has come to World Wind from the community and is hosted by Worldwindcentral.com / FEF.

First up is Western Australia. World Wind now has several data layers that are not really visual imagery but still interesting to look at and will be of use for many people. There is a Geologic Map of Western Australia, Topo Map of Western Australia, a Gravity map and Maganatism map. Here are some screen shots of the geologic and topo maps. The other two; while pretty.. probably would confuse more than help.

Here are screen shots of the geologic map:

And here are some screen shots of the topo map:

Now, onto the other new dataset in World Wind. 2.5m LINZ imagery of New Zeland. This imagery has three layers, a data layer for 2002 imagery, 2003 imagery and 2004 imagery. Different portions of the islands were done over the years which has some overlap (which is why there are three layers). Here are some screen shots of the imagery:

And for comparison.. a GE shot of the same area at it's closest resolution:
