San Diego - Part 4: The Wrap up
Written by Chad on December 12th, 2006Ok, I am back in Michigan now. From mid to upper 60’s to mid to upper 40’s. Flight back wasn’t too bad.. save for a 30 minute delay leaving San Diego and a 3.5 hour delay in leaving Chicago. We didn’t get home and to sleep till 3am.
Anyway, the wrap up on my trip. It went quite well, I am still waiting to get some feedback from the teachers on what they thought of the presentation. I thought it went ok, but I know it needed some more work and fine tuning. The main issue I had to deal with was 5th graders and getting them past the “ooooh, can we see my house now?”, once I did.. they were ammazed at what else I had shown them and I didn’t get to show them nearly as much as I wanted.
I was going to also present to high schoolers on Monday morning, but we decided that the time and location of the presentation along with the time of my flight leaving in the morning made it kind of tight and tricky to do that presentation and deal with morning rush hour traffic to get to the airport in time. So instead we decided my time would be better spent developing some World Wind related lesson plans for teachers, which I have one close to done now.
I will also post up the presentations I used on my Wiki for others to look at and use if they want.
Well, that about wraps up the San Diego trip for 2006 (I will be out there at least two more times next year).
