3D Objects Animated in World Wind
Written by Chad on February 9th, 2007A few weeks back, what_nick issued a challenge to have a 3D car drive over the Golden Gate Bridge.
This isn’t a car and it isn’t the Golden Gate bridge.. but an animation has been done that shows an imperial shuttle heading to Toulouse, France. Here is the forum post and here is a link to the page with the animation. Warning, it is an 8MB file that has to load before it plays. It can be slow.
This is a start and still needs to be fine tuned, but just imagine tracking 3D model versions of planes and ships in real time within World Wind.
